Description | Journal kept by William H Macy, first mate onboard the Homer, during a sealing voyage to the Southern Indian Ocean. The ship had problems with leaks from early in the voyage, and on the homeward journey was severely damaged off the Cape of Good Hope. The crew just about got the vessel to Cape Town, where it was repaired. |
