Description | Logbook of the ship Huntress while on a sealing expedition near Antarctica. Captain John Davis would later claim that during this voyage he set foot on the Antarctic mainland (on 7th Fenruary 1821). If true, this made him the first person ever to do so. There is also an account of a shipwreck and the selling of goods salvaged from it. |
