Description Journal with log information kept by passenger Alfred Tufts from 1854-1856 (with gaps) while on a trading voyage aboard the ship Ocean Pearl out of Boston, Massachusetts. The ship made brief stops at Valparaiso, Chile, Honolulu, Hawaii, Hong Kong, China, Manila, Philippines, and Anjier in the Sunda Strait. Included are drawings of the headlands of Staten Land, South America, and an iceberg. The ship was commanded by Winthrop Sears.
