Description A journal written while on a voyage to and from Guangzhou, China, kept from 13 Aug 1810 - 15 Sept 1815. Logbook-style entries note daily latitude and longitude coordinates and weather conditions, Child’s duties as a seaman on the ship Hunter, a battle with Fiji Islanders in which men were killed and then eaten, his capture at Macau by the British frigate Doris, 18 March 1814, and his transfer to the ship America for passage home. Also included is a drawing of the ship Hunter.
