Description | Log kept aboard the ship Logan in narrative format by merchant Thomas Handasyd Cabot from 4 March to 9 August 1834 (with gaps) while a passenger on a voyage from Boston, Massachusetts to Canton, China for business related to the Boston firm J & T H Perkins and Sons. Entries record latitude and longitude, course, distance traveled, weather, and winds. John Murray Forbes served as supercargo and Henry Bancroft commanded the ship on the voyage. Brief stops include Gibraltar and Anjier, Indonesia in the Sunda Strait. Cabot leaves the ship on 10 August near Lintin, China to travel faster to Canton. |
