Samuel Shaw (1754-1794) was a Revolutionary War soldier, US Consul to Canton in China, and partner in the merchant firm of Shaw & Randall in Canton. He sailed as supercargo in 1784 aboard the ship Empress of China, the first American-flagged ship at Canton.
